LATAM
Chair
Flourishing arches, inviting depth. The design of the back of the Latam chair may at first create distrust. None of the less, the slightly flexible backrest makes it surprisingly comfortable.
The curved legs of the chair, which are the main elements dominating the silhouette, are inspired by breaking down into elements. The static front legs and the seating surface are balancing the dynamic lines. The latter is supported, which gives a sense of floating further enhancing the aerial feeling to it.
I made the bent elements of the chair and the seat from birch plywood. The front legs, wedges and stiffener are made of solid pine. The chair is polished, however, untreated with oil. In the absence of proper technology, bending has been bent by entrapment after many trial-error experiments .
Trust it, lean back!

This is a very first prototype, still under development.
